स्कन्दमाता देवी मंत्र, आरती, कवच स्तोत्र - Skandamata Devi Mantra, Aarti, Kavach, Stotra Sanskrit Lyrics

When Goddess Parvati became the mother of Lord Skanda (also known as Lord Kartikeya or Murugan), she came to be worshipped as Goddess Skandamata, meaning “the mother of Skanda.” This form represents her as the divine mother, protector, nurturer embodying maternal love, strength, and the source of courage in her devotees.
Goddess Skandamata is depicted seated on a lotus flower, earning her the name Padmasana. She has a Shubhra (शुभ्र) i.e white complexion, rides a lion and carries baby Murugan (Lord Skanda) in her lap. With four hands, she holds lotus flowers in her upper two hands, carries her son in one right hand, and blesses devotees with her other hand in Abhaya Mudra (gesture of protection).
Worshipping Goddess Katyayani is believed to remove negative influences and bring courage, health, and prosperity. She is especially worshipped for removing barriers to marriage and ensuring harmony in relationships. Her blessings are said to provide both worldly happiness and spiritual progress by aligning devotees with righteousness and inner strength.
In Vedic astrology, Goddess Skandamata governs the planet Budha (Mercury). She provides clarity of thought, intelligence, and communication skills, while reducing the malefic effects of Mercury for her devotees.
