Vishnu Ashtakam Stotram with Meaning [Sanskrit Lyrics] – विष्णु अष्टकं स्तोत्र अर्थ सहित

अच्युतं केशवं विष्णुं हरिं सत्यं जनार्दनम् ।
हंसं नारायणं चैवमेतन्नामाष्टकं पठेत् ॥ १॥

I recite and meditate upon Achyuta (the Infallible One), Keshava (the One with beautiful hair, destroyer of the Kesi demon), Vishnu (the All-Pervading One), Hari (the Remover of sins), Satya (Truth, the Eternal One), Janardana (the Protector of people), Hamsa (the Divine Swan, symbol of purity), and Narayana (the Refuge of all beings). This is the sacred eight names (nama-ashtakam) of Lord Vishnu.

मैं स्मरण करता हूँ और जप करता हूँ — अच्युत (जो कभी च्युत नहीं होते, अडोल), केशव (सुंदर केशों वाले, केशी असुर का संहार करने वाले), विष्णु (सर्वव्यापक), हरि (पापों का हरण करने वाले), सत्य (सत्यस्वरूप), जनार्दन (लोगों की रक्षा करने वाले), हंस (निर्मलता और विवेक के प्रतीक), और नारायण (सभी का अंतिम आश्रय)। ये भगवान विष्णु के पवित्र आठ नाम (नामाष्टक) हैं।

त्रिसन्ध्यं यः पठेन्नित्यं दारिद्र्यं तस्य नश्यति ।
शत्रुसैन्यं क्षयं याति दुःस्वप्नः सुखदो भवेत् ॥ २॥

Whoever recites these eight names regularly at the three sandhyas (dawn, noon, and dusk), all their poverty and misfortunes shall be destroyed. The armies of their enemies will perish, their bad dreams will be dispelled, and happiness will arise in their life.

हे प्रभु, जो कोई इन आठ नामों का त्रिसंध्या (प्रातः, मध्यान्ह, संध्या) में नित्य जप करता है, उसके सभी दरिद्रता और दुर्भाग्य नष्ट हो जाते हैं। उसके शत्रुओं की सेनाएँ नष्ट हो जाती हैं, अशुभ स्वप्न समाप्त हो जाते हैं, और सुख-संपन्नता की प्राप्ति होती है।

गङ्गायां मरणं चैव दृढा भक्तिस्तु केशवे ।
ब्रह्मविद्याप्रबोधश्च तस्मान्नित्यं पठेन्नरः ॥

Such a devotee will attain the fortune of passing away at the sacred river Ganga, will develop firm and unwavering devotion to You, and will be awakened in the supreme knowledge of Brahman (Brahma Vidya). Therefore, O human beings, one should recite this Vishnu Nama Ashtakam every day without fail.

हे केशव, ऐसा भक्त गंगा नदी में मृत्यु पाने का पुण्य प्राप्त करता है, उसमें आपके प्रति अडिग भक्ति उत्पन्न होती है, और वह ब्रह्मविद्या (परमात्मा के ज्ञान) में जागृत होता है। इसलिए, हे मनुष्यों, हर व्यक्ति को इस विष्णु नामाष्टक का नित्य पाठ करना चाहिए।

इति श्रीविष्णुनामाष्टकं सम्पूर्णम् ।
