ब्रह्ममुरारिसुरार्चितलिङ्गं निर्मलभासितशोभितलिङ्गम् ।
जन्मजदुःखविनाशकलिङ्गं तत् प्रणमामि सदाशिवलिङ्गम् ॥१॥

I bow down again and again to the eternal Shiva Linga, The Linga that is worshipped by Brahma, Vishnu, and the celestial gods, Radiant with pure, divine brilliance, And the one that destroys the sorrows arising from birth and worldly existence.

मैं बार-बार उस अनंत शिवलिंग को प्रणाम करता हूँ, जिसकी पूजा ब्रह्मा, विष्णु और समस्त देवगण करते हैं, जो निर्मल, दिव्य तेज से प्रकाशित होता है, और जो जन्म-जन्मांतर के दुखों का विनाश करने वाला है।

देवमुनिप्रवरार्चितलिङ्गं कामदहं करुणाकरलिङ्गम् ।
रावणदर्पविनाशनलिङ्गं तत् प्रणमामि सदाशिवलिङ्गम् ॥२॥

I bow down to the eternal Shiva Linga, Worshipped with devotion by the greatest sages and divine beings, The embodiment of compassion, the destroyer of lust and desires, And the one who shattered the pride of the mighty Ravana.

मैं उस अनंत शिवलिंग को प्रणाम करता हूँ, जिसकी पूजा महान देवता और ऋषि मुनि करते हैं, जो करुणा का सागर है और कामवासना का दहन करने वाला है, और जिसने रावण के अहंकार को नष्ट किया।

सर्वसुगन्धिसुलेपितलिङ्गं बुद्धिविवर्धनकारणलिङ्गम् ।
सिद्धसुरासुरवन्दितलिङ्गं तत् प्रणमामि सदाशिवलिङ्गम् ॥३॥

I bow down to the eternal Shiva Linga, Anointed with fragrant and sacred substances, The source of wisdom and intelligence, And the Linga venerated by perfected beings (siddhas), gods, and even demons.

मैं उस अनंत शिवलिंग को प्रणाम करता हूँ, जो सुगंधित और पवित्र द्रव्यों से लेपा हुआ है, जो बुद्धि और विवेक को बढ़ाने का कारण है, और जिसकी सिद्ध, देवता और असुर तक वंदना करते हैं।

कनकमहामणिभूषितलिङ्गं फणिपतिवेष्टितशोभितलिङ्गम् ।
दक्षसुयज्ञविनाशनलिङ्गं तत् प्रणमामि सदाशिवलिङ्गम् ॥४॥

I bow down to the eternal Shiva Linga, Adorned with dazzling gold and precious jewels, Encircled beautifully by the mighty serpent, And the one who destroyed Daksha’s arrogant yagna.

मैं उस अनंत शिवलिंग को प्रणाम करता हूँ, जो सोने और सुंदर रत्नों से अलंकृत है, जिसके चारों ओर महान नाग लिपटा हुआ शोभा दे रहा है, और जिसने दक्ष के घमंडी यज्ञ का विनाश किया।

कुङ्कुमचन्दनलेपितलिङ्गं पङ्कजहारसुशोभितलिङ्गम् ।
सञ्चितपापविनाशनलिङ्गं तत् प्रणमामि सदाशिवलिङ्गम् ॥५॥

I bow down to the eternal Shiva Linga, Anointed with sacred kumkuma and sandalwood paste, Decorated with garlands of fresh lotus flowers, And the one that destroys all accumulated sins.

मैं उस अनंत शिवलिंग को प्रणाम करता हूँ, जो कुंकुम और चंदन के लेप से सुशोभित है, कमल के हार से सज्जित है, और जो संचित पापों का विनाश करने वाला है।

देवगणार्चितसेवितलिङ्गं भावैर्भक्तिभिरेव च लिङ्गम् ।
दिनकरकोटिप्रभाकरलिङ्गं तत् प्रणमामि सदाशिवलिङ्गम् ॥६॥

I bow down to the eternal Shiva Linga, Worshipped by all the divine beings and their attendants, And approached by devotees through heartfelt emotions and pure devotion, Shining brilliantly like millions of suns.

मैं उस अनंत शिवलिंग को प्रणाम करता हूँ, जिसकी पूजा देवगण और गण करते हैं, जिसकी सेवा सच्ची भक्ति और भावों से होती है, और जो करोड़ों सूर्य के समान प्रकाशमान है।

अष्टदलोपरिवेष्टितलिङ्गं सर्वसमुद्भवकारणलिङ्गम् ।
अष्टदरिद्रविनाशितलिङ्गं तत् प्रणमामि सदाशिवलिङ्गम् ॥७॥

I bow down to the eternal Shiva Linga, Encircled by the eight petals of the divine lotus, The ultimate cause of all creation and existence, And the one who destroys the eight kinds of poverty and misfortune.

मैं उस अनंत शिवलिंग को प्रणाम करता हूँ, जो आठ दलों वाली कमल माला से घिरा हुआ है, जो समस्त सृष्टि का कारण है, और जो आठ प्रकार की दरिद्रता का नाश करता है।

सुरगुरुसुरवरपूजितलिङ्गं सुरवनपुष्पसदार्चितलिङ्गम् ।
परात्परं परमात्मकलिङ्गं तत् प्रणमामि सदाशिवलिङ्गम् ॥८॥

I bow down to the eternal Shiva Linga, Worshipped by the guru of the gods (Brihaspati) and the chief among the devas, Constantly adorned with divine forest flowers, And representing the Supreme, transcendental Paramatma beyond all.

मैं उस अनंत शिवलिंग को प्रणाम करता हूँ, जिसकी पूजा देवगुरु बृहस्पति और देवश्रेष्ठ करते हैं, जो वनफूलों से सदा सुशोभित रहता है, और जो परात्पर, परमात्मा का प्रतीक है।

लिङ्गाष्टकमिदं पुण्यं यः पठेत् शिवसन्निधौ ।
शिवलोकमवाप्नोति शिवेन सह मोदते॥

Whoever recites this sacred Linga Ashtakam in the presence of Lord Shiva Will surely attain Shiva’s divine abode and Will forever rejoice in the blissful company of Shiva.
